A lot of different credit cards are available for people with good to moderate credit but if you a have poor credit score, you have very few choices. If you have poor credit and want to raise your credit score, a good way to do this is to get a bank secured credit card. This type of credit card builds a good credit history for you when used responsibly and is connected to your bank account.
You use a bank secured credit card as you would any other credit card except it is linked to your bank account to guarantee payment. With a bank secured credit card, you cannot rack up a lot of debt. If you fail to pay the bank secured credit card bill on time, the bank can deduct the amount you owe from your bank account. The bank can feel secure letting you have this kind of credit card because it has access to funds to pay the balance if you don’t.

First Citizens Bank is one of the many institutions that offer credit cards. However, before you go on that journey and apply, let’s review a few details. The grace period for First Citizens cards is around ’25′ days. If you go over that cycle then you will pay ‘finance’ charges. This is not uncommon, so therefore we are looking good. The payments on new account statements should be paid in full, otherwise the cardholder will roll over to the next grace cycle, which will accumulate charges.
The card is like most cards, in that if you fail to make full payment at the end of the grace period, then you will be charged ‘financial’ fees, APR, and your balance will roll over to the next cycle, where this process will continue until you payoff the credit card.

If there is any one experienced in this what are the pros and cons of bankruptcy…and or who should and can I talk to for legal advice. Should I go to a lawyer? I don’t know I’m confused and stressed out. I moved out on my own and tried to be independent and in the midst of my independence my 7–something credit score went down to a 5–something. My first credit card had a 7,000 credit limit on it and I used it all for bills, obligations, and basicaly just to live off of, during my unemployment. I know that was a dumb move so please no smart a%# answers just honest, respectful, and informed answers would be very much appreciated thank you in advice everyone.
Like I said before if your going to tell me to not ask this question on yahoo answers then please be so kind as to finish your suggestion by telling me where I could get advice from..Thanks again!

A person in another state has declared bankruptcy, They used one of my US Bank account numbers on accident. US Bank couldn’t contact me, (by law) to tell that the auto w/drawl was put to a stop.. I now have really bad credit. All of the other card companies keep shutting my lines down.. I own a company and use the lines during slow times ..Well, I used to. They lower the limits, which makes me look even more maxed out. I am in a downward spiral.. I feel like I should just declare BK, and start all over. My credit is toast anyways right ??
About 11 years ago my wife filed bankruptcy. She’s been trying to rebuild her credit but even stores like Kohls turn her down.
Recently, we received a pre-approved Visa app for $200. It seemed like a legit offer. In hindsight, the offering company, CREDIT ONE BANK, is virtually nonexistent.
What’s worse? Even though it was pre-approved, nothing happened. It created the worry that it was some sort of SCAM to harvest social security numbers.
