I married a man who had THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars in debt. Majority of the debt was charged BEFORE we were married. We are now in the process of a divorce. In the divorce, we both agreed that his debts are his and my debts are mine. Arizona is a community property state or whatever you call it. Will the divorce decree protect me?
Only one of the credit cards was opened during the marriage. Its a small balance. I am not worried about that one. I am worried about what has been charged on his cards while we were married. I do not know the dollar amount. He never used any of it on me! lol.

I am 22,recieved Social Security Survior benefits [at age 15] once my father died.I have lifelong health conditions also.Once I reached adult age the benefits stopped and I applied for disability which is a long process and I am still waiting for approval.
During the last 3 years I have lived mostly on credit cards and borrowing from family to make the minnimum payments.That is no longer an option as of last month so I can pay nothing on my credit card bills.I have written each creditor explaining the situation and explained I have filed for disability and that I have no income and no way to pay at all now.This was daily living and medical expenses.
